Life Goes On. Keep Praying. God Listens.

My blog has been idled for 3 weeks. Mind filled with anxiety, fear & worries. Wondering what might happen in the future to the land that I've been living for 25 years. Will the citizens of this land continues to be restless? Not because of the endless exciting events happening in the city that never sleeps, just like how it used to be, but because of the arrival of the Sulu gunmen, who had invaded our land on 12th Feb 2013 at 1:37am in Lahad Datu. They want Sabah. They claimed Sabah is their land!

Nowadays, when the sun sets, the streets will be empty. Malls and restaurants will be empty. Only the lonely moon & streetlights be the only ones who stares at the emptiness of the city, listening to the whistling breeze. People went home early to be with their loved ones to make sure they are alright. Even in non-affected areas like the westcoast of Sabah, people are taking extra caution, just in-case any unwanted incidents that might happen. So, people stocked up food, petrols & other basic needs. Supermarket "rice section" - All you can see are empty racks.

I know this is a fashion blog. But something that has been stucked in my mind for a month must be scrapped out. I'm not good in talking. So I decided to write about it. Oh Lord, I pray that these gunmen will stop the fighting. This isn't the way to deal with it! As of today, 16th Mar 2013, a total of 71 people were reported killed, including 61 Filipino militants, eight Malaysian policemen, one Malaysian soldier, and a teenage boy of unknown nationality. How many more lives do we or they have to sacrifice?

This is not a simple case to be solved. If not careful, things like this "might" happened again. No one knows when the fighting will stop. The government has to think of a long-term solution to this. May God give them wisdom in dealing with this matter without anymore bloodshed.

Friends, we might not be able to help to stop the situation, but let us continue to live in unity, keep praying & trust in the Lord for only He alone can make things right. Only He alone can remove the fear in us. And only He can move the mountains & calm the raging sea.

Amen.

LONDON FASHION WEEK AUTUMN/WINTER 2013 IS BACK!!

ONDON - It is the time of the year that international fashion brands are

back on the track to present their amazing creations & creativity to the world. Although they are Autumn/Winter collections, but I did find some are wearable in our own country. The hot weather doesn't stop us from being fashionable. Haha.

Want to watch some of the collections? Check out the slideshows according to designers. Oh! And have a look at Malaysia's very own Bernard Chandran's collection too! It's kind of "weird" but it's creative. :)

GUCCI: THE HOUSE OF GUCCI

As promised on my previous post, here I would like to share some knowledge with you about the history of one of the oldest brands in the fashion industry. Many of us have heard of GUCCI before. But do you know where does the biggest-selling Italian brand came from?

Guccio Gucci
26 March 1881 – 2 January 1953

Guccio Gucci, the founder of the House of Gucci was born in Florence, Italy. Inspired by the luxurious luggage carried by "VIPS" during his work in exclusive hotels in both Paris and London, he went back to his hometown and started a business. A skilled craftsman he was, he founded the House in 1921 as a leather goods company and small luggage store.

Saddle was one of his products as many of Gucci's clients are local horse-riding aristocrats.
**A saddle is a seat for a horse rider usually made of leather, placed on a horse's back and secured with a girth under the belly.

He sold leather bags to horsemen too and soon his reputation for producing great quality leather bags has shot to fame in a short period of time, so successful that he could hire the best craftsmen he could find to work in his atelier.

1938 - Gucci expanded his business to Rome and turned his business into a family-owned, when his sons Aldo, Vasco, Ugo and Rodolfo joined the company.
